Community Snacks and Peeled Snacks Helps Provide 300,000 Meals for Connecticut Families with Connecticut Foodshare

Katie Vidal

Last week, members of the Community Snacks and Peeled Snacks team visited Connecticut Foodshare for a check presentation that celebrated a meaningful milestone in the fight against hunger in our state.

On World Hunger Day, Community Snacks and Peeled Snacks donated $25,000 to Connecticut Foodshare's matching program. That gift, combined with contributions from other generous supporters, helped the campaign raise more than $170,000. This is the equivalent of 300,000 meals for individuals and families across Connecticut.

Putting Our Hands to Work

We wanted to do more than write a check, so our team spent the afternoon volunteering in Connecticut Foodshare's warehouse. In just three and a half hours, we sorted 8,701 pounds of food. That's about 7,250 meals, and they were headed to families' tables the very next day.

Seeing how quickly donated food moves from the warehouse into the community was a powerful reminder of how much of an impact every hour and every dollar can make.

Thank You, Connecticut Foodshare

We're grateful to the entire Connecticut Foodshare team for the work they do every day to make sure our neighbors have access to the food they need. Thank you for welcoming us, for guiding our volunteers, and for letting us be part of your mission.

At [Company Name], giving back to the communities we serve is at the heart of who we are. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Connecticut Foodshare and finding new ways to make a difference together.
