Every World Hunger Day, We Give Back. This Year, We Gave More Than Ever.

Jim Goldberg

Since 2023, Community Snacks and our sister brand Peeled Snacks have donated 10% of the previous year's profits every World Hunger Day to fight hunger close to home. This year that combined donation is $50,000 across five regions.

The world does not need another bag of chips. What it does need are companies that actually give a damn about the people around them, that put their money where their values are, and that believe doing business and doing good are not two separate things. That is what Community Snacks and Peeled Snacks are built on.

Food has always been at the center of what we do. We make snacks, yes, but we also believe that no one in the communities we call home should go hungry. That belief is what started our World Hunger Day tradition three years ago, and it is what keeps us going.

In 2023, we made our first World Hunger Day donation: $25,000 to CT Foodshare's match program, right here in Connecticut where our story began. It felt right to start close to home.

In 2024, we had grown into new states, and our giving grew with us. We donated another $40,000 across CT Foodshare, the North Carolina Food Bank, and food banks serving Massachusetts and Vermont. Four states. One shared belief that businesses should take care of the places that take care of them.

This year, for our 2025 donation, Community Snacks and Peeled Snacks are giving a combined $50,000. It is more than our 10% commitment, and we are proud of that.

Here is exactly where that money is going, and what it means in real meals:

Meal estimates based on publicly reported figures from each food bank and reflect our direct donation only. CT Foodshare’s matching program means the real number of meals funded is even higher.

To put that in perspective: in Connecticut alone, our matching efforts last year helped fund 364,000 meals. That is the power of the match program, and why we keep coming back to it year after year.

CT Foodshare and our other partner food banks source, store, and distribute food to families and individuals across all five regions. Their matching programs double the impact of every dollar we donate.

We do not think of this as charity. We think of it as how a business should work. Grow with your community, give back as you grow, and build something that feeds itself. – Jim Goldberg, Founder & CEO of Community Snacks & Peeled Snacks

We call it the Flywheel. When we give back, people learn what Community Snacks and Peeled Snacks stand for. When people share our values, they choose our products. When our business grows, our giving grows too. It is a cycle we are genuinely proud to be part of, and we hope you are too.

To every customer who has ever bought a bag of Community Snacks or Peeled Snacks: thank you for chipping in and giving back with us. You are part of why this is possible.
